Stop Leak in the GT 750 ?

I noticed in the Suzuki owners book they recommend 1/2 oz of leak end in the rad.
Is this really necessary and do owners still do this as a preventative measure?

I still do it, but I've been told I'm a belt, braces and holding on to my trousers with both hands sort of person !

. I think the reason originally was for the J and K engine cases where the water bypass line didn't have the o-ring used in later cases, which meant that contact area was prone to leakage. Likely not required now, but I still do it anyway.

The only thing I would add to Ian's reply is that if the radiator is off or drained, now would be a good time to flush it out. I have had a couple that are full of crystalized glycol.
That reminds me, my bike just has plain water in the rad. I need to drain that out for winter storage or else I'll crack a block or water pump.
