GT750(M) oil adjustment, manual discrepancy (see pic)

Post by mfrias2nd »

Hello everyone,

I have a manual discrepancy. According to the manual the 2 indicator lines on the oil pump should line up under full throttle. However, if you see the pictures the 2 lines are nearly lined up in closed position. The indicator lever has a catch that won't allow it to move further clockwise so it's impossible to have the lines line up in full throttle anyway. What is the correct way to adjust this. I believe, before i tore the bike down, that the lines were lined up in closed throttle position. Someone kindly clarify, I'd hate to burn this thing up on it's maiden voyage.

thanks, much appreciated.

M

 Hi,oil pump on the L,M,A & B should be made with the throttle closed, both marks should align when closed ! What is the blue tube in the photo ?
is it the oil feed from the tank ? if so it should enter under the pump cover at the back..not over the top..I have seen this before, where a hole has been drilled/cut in the pump cover, to accommodate the "wrong" fitment of the hose :?
Cheers,

Thanks that's what I thought. very much appreciated. Blue hose is fuel line. I just hadn't cut it to length.

That's where my 74 and 77 pump sits now.( last photo)
I lowered the pump until the arm just rest on the pump and still moves when throttle is opened.
A few have done it this way .
