35mm x 58mm fork dust covers GT550?

Post by nateryan »

I Bought some dust covers from pyramid parts in Australia and they are the wrong size, so im selling them for 10 bucks including shipping.

they were stated on ebay as gt380 and t250 and all other sorts but when they came here the upper part of the cover is too big for the gt380 33mm fork. i placed them on a kz750 fork to which they fit perfectly.
i emailed them about how they sent the wrong part and they told me those are the closest to 33mm that they have and that i could send them back. no problem with sending them back but id rather give someone on here a good deal than pay to ship them all the way back there and lose money anyway.

If they are 35mm, they will fit the GT550 for sure. I think the GT750's are 35mm as well. You should tell the seller that 'close' doesn't cut it. That's 1/16 out!
I was born with nothing and still have most of it left.

thats exactly what i told the lady in the multiple emails i sent. it was $20 which isnt going to kill me, but its the principle of the matter. i couldnt believe that they would sell a brand new part that wasnt close enough to the original to even work at all. i told the lady there is no reason to have a dust cover on your fork if it doesnt keep dust out.. i mean cmaaan lady. she said that they would stop selling them as 33mm.
not sure if i believe her but either way, the warning is out there now for anyone who was thinking of giving pyramid parts their business.

i actually bought some of the dime city universal dust covers and they fit pretty well. they are frail though at about half as thick as oem ones and they are kind of ugly with the weird lip on the top but at least they fit i guess.
