Gt500 T500 Seat

Post by Old School »

I am in need of a seat for my 76 GT500. Will a earlier T500 seat fit?

The Gt seat will only fit with a Gt tank, and a T with a T.....
I have seen them cobbled on in a mix and match, but it never looks right.

Depends how desperate you are really, but these look the part and the base won't buckle on you through rust. I've made a couple in the past from a collection of genuine parts and they didn't come in much cheaper than these, although I did use those hard to find (= expensive) SS trims.

Thanks. I would really like to have that seat, but it looks like $400 for me.

I'd keep looking for a seat pan in the US if I were you, there must be loads left over there, in fact someone over there sent me one for the price of a few pints and postage. The foam and covers are easy to locate, and just get that imitation trim.

Good luck! I mean that seriously!! I searched up and down. I only wanted a Pan because I planed on cutting it lower and already made a cafe style leather seat cover. When I took my seat apart it was so rotten it was un repairable. Looked and looked and looked without luck. So I made one.

If you do find one, post it here, it will make me happy for you.

Here's my thread about a pan.
