What is a set of A / B model crankcases worth for GT550

Post by bigsteve »

After buying loads of bits for my project GT550 (1976 A model) over the years I am now looking to sell some parts.

I have a complete bottom end for a 1976/ 1977 A/ B model euro spec for nikasil barrels which I am going to strip for spares, some parts to keep others to sell.

I am looking to sell the crankcases, I believe these to be a rare item now, should I sell on ebay or fix a price for them.

Also going to strip a complete 72 engine what should I ask for a complete set of pistons and barrels on std bore and also the crankcases for this as well.

Thanks for the advice

Hello Steve, welcome to the forum.

Pay this site a visit http://www.kettleclinic.co.uk/kcforum/index.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and ask the same question. The GT550 is the 'in' bike at the moment with a few members restoring them and some already restored to a high standard.
I'm sure they will be more than helpful in giving a UK guide price for your parts.
