Headlight

Post by Glyn.G »

Hi, I was wondering if any one knows where I can get a replacement headlight unit for my 1977 GT380. I've just had the bowl and rim rechromed, but the inside of the actual glass unit has some rust and tarnishing on the reflective steel back plate. The main bulb fits in a plastic socket Part No 35171-33031, there is also a seperate parking light bulb under the main bulb which does not show in my parts catalogue. The original unit is a Koito made in Japan.

I don't think anyone state side can help you very much. Obviously the European model was very different. The US model used a single sealed beam headlight. It sounds like your glass amd reflector are 2 separate pieces. Not that way over here. Look at the GT380 fiche here: http://www.alpha-sports.com/suzuki_parts.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Cheers Coyote,
I'm afraid thats the problem I have. The headlight is a sealed unit and with all the tarnishing inside the bike only just passed it's MOT this year, but I don't think it will pass next time as I promissed to get it sorted. :cry:

I may have the lamp you need. PM me your email address and I'll send you some pics to be sure. I asked for a Stanley conversion but no one has responded yet. Do not confuse this with Stanley hardware. This is a made in Japan unit. I'm not sure if they were sold as replacements or were original equipment on some models.
