i've been offered two cb 400 fours in trade for clearing three fallen trees from an old gents property. the fellow is an avid restorer(33 auburn, 04 oakland, a packard, 56 jawa 175 and so on). i saw the bikes this past sunday on a garage tour of his place, but they were inacessable for all his other treasures. one's a 77 which gets used once a year when his son comes home for a week. the other, a 75 he described as a parts bike. it was all there and judging by his other vehicles the parts bike is probably finer than any of my runners.
i'm sure i'll take the deal but i will have to invest in a log splitter to hold up my end of the deal.
can someone give me the green light so i can blame them when two more orphans show up in my driveway.
finally!!
the voice of reasoning.
if i were to do this(which i am) i would buy a splitter. probably a chainsaw too. renting puts too much pressure on the timeframe. once you have it it's there when you need it. used ones are scarce so when i want to dump it i will get most of it back. the trees are already down and dragged to the wood pile so it should go smoothly.
i was strictly honda for a long time and the 4000/4 was on my hit list so this is ideal.
there are more tim hortons around here than corner stores and gas stations combined, so when you want to meet someone you have to be very specific.
more to follow.
