I have been reading a lot about this on other message boards and I will stll be joing up for the new year and will be racing as usual. To help them get through this it needs to be business as usual. Also we should be able to get the leadership we always wanted to actually head AHRMA in the right direction.
I think a lot of good will come of this change. I have been a member for 12 years and only missed the last two years do to my auto accident. But now I am back.
Eric I agree, I'll continue to support AHRMA and plan to compete next year. According to the press release things will continue to function, just like airlines who operate under Chapter 11.
I've decided it will be 5 AHRMA events next year, adding Grattan to the schedule. Now I've just got to figure out bike transportation.
Great Desmocat. Look forward to seeing you there. Since they are roughly three weeks apart the chances of getting a bike there are good. Do you want to fly down here and ride up with me?
I should, with some interior mods to the RV, be able to sleep 4. The kennel will be gone and bunk beds for the rear. And a cot can be put in the isle.
Possibly Keith Sutton, John Cooper, You and myself.
Okay looking over the 2007 schedule, the next closest race to me is Kershaw which is a month or two too late to get me on track at Ohio. Grattan is the next closest but at 707 miles away from NJ it's a pretty long day's drive.
Hey Geeto67 - you thinking of doing Grattan? Maybe we could split the drive?
Otherwise, would I be allowed on track at Ohio if I had a few WERA races under my belt come July? Summit Point and BeaveRun are much closer. They must make some allowances for members of other organizations to get them eligible for Ohio - otherwise how would some of the British, European, and Australian competitors be able to fly over to race at Ohio?

Jim
They usually allow other liciences, so you should be ok. you might have to pay for a weekend licience though.
You guys that are going to be driving a ways, you guys can stop off at my place along the way if you would like. I don't have the biggest house or the greatest accomodations but you are welcome to use up the couch, livingroom floor, etc. wherever you can find. I'll supply the first case of beer and Rochelle can make up some of her shredded beef burritos.
I know we are a little off the path for you, but Rochelle's burritos are worth it............Guaranteed or your money back.
:rbanana: Yep, sure do. Pm me. As for the bikes they are too far away and would cost more in gas to get. I already scored more than that stuff already. But thanks for the heads up.
Just sent my renewal in. They guy who got my old number now decided to keep it so I had to get a new one. Last night was e-mailed that 581 was avaialble so that will be my new number.
Just a little transposition but instead of 158 (January 1958) I will have 581 (1958 January). Still a cool number. :dbanana: :dbanana:
