GT 750 J Wheel spokes

Post by TerryH »

Hi, currently restoring my GT 750 J and am looking for some front and rear spoke sets. I'm located in Australia, and haven't had any luck finding any around me. If anyone has any, or can direct me to a good place to get some, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

There are some options. eBay has reproduction spokes , but they are out of Thailand. There are mixed opinions concerning the quality of these spokes from don't waste your money to I am running them and they are fine. The major drawback to the Thailand spokes is they are a single diameter from end to end (not swaged).
The best spokes out of the US are at the following link. You will spend more, but you will get more. Their spokes are stainless and there are plenty of options to choose from as far as design and finish. Touted as being the best ------------

The other alternative if your spokes are not pitted is to get them stripped and plated. I have done that many times.

I don't find ant bike list. A million spokes a week? That's a lot of spokes. Enough to do 13,888 bikes a week. Seems at that rate, production will end soon.

Maybe they supply for pedal cycles also? in which case, they'll not run out of customers so quickly :-)
