Setting up GT750 4LS on a T500

Post by evol02 »

Well I finally got around to starting to set up one of my 4LS on a Titan today. I remember there being a thread about this business a long time ago.

I intend to modify the backing plates of the 4LS to be accepted by the stock T500 Forks. I realize that many might tell me it is a better idea to upgrade to the GT750 forks, but I should point out that I have 3 sets of T500 forks and zero sets of GT750 forks at the moment.

Unfortunately my calipers are not large enough so I am unable to measure the width of the drums right now. I was wondering if anyone had the measurements for the width of the T500 Drum and the GT750 Drum at the axle? This will tell me how much I need to remove from the backing plates to allow the T500 forks to accept the 4LS Drum.

Anyone have this info, or calipers and spare drums?

Cheers!

I think I cut .200 off each backing plate to accomodate the 4LS in my '71 T500 forks.
