Hello from the UK having owned a Suzuki T20 Super Six & T500L in the early 1970s I thought it was time I owned another Suzuki. The problem is here in the UK (T20s) "X6 Hustlers to you in the States" are very rare (and so I,v found out are nice condition unmolested/unmessed about with T500,s) So after wasting my time for a good few months looking at wrecks & overpriced restored T500,s I had a T500M imported direct from the United States & I have to say its the best thing I could have done bikes like this one can never can be found in this condition here in England for the right money.I plan to get this one up & running for the short summer we have over here and ride it as it was intended to be used then give it the full resto in the winter months

Welcome! Your story and plan sound similar to mine. Bikes look a lot alike, too (mine's a '71, I got it a few weeks ago). At least, they looked a lot alike before this past weekend. Now, not so much...

A bit better than reasonable shape Tim/Paul Managed to get my new workshop up dispite the terrible weather here in England with just the felt to fit on the roof "thats soon as the gales blow somewhere else" A few more pics of the T500M the carbs have been removed & cleaned inside & out and look a lot better the engine has been cleaned & treated to some stainless capscrews oils have been changed bike has a good spark off the kickstart not long now!

I,v done quite a bit of work to the T500 since posting the last pictures. Removed the chain for a good parts washer clean & re-oil ,removed the back wheel & fitted a New 410x18 Dunlop K81 TT100 tyre, fitted NOS rear brake shoes, cleaned everything & re-greased the swing arm The whole back end looks 100% better.Front wheel has been removed ready for a new Dunlop K81 TT100 to match the rear one, brake drum has been cleaned shoes removed ready for some new ones (I,v located a reliable supplier in Sheffield who is going to re-line some better Ferodo linings to the old shoe backplates next week) then the whole lot can go back together then I,ll start it up and go from there till next time regards to all

Kenda front tyre ready for removal "not bad for 38 years old" (shame about the sidewall cracking issues) K81 TT100 360X19 replacement looks better already Front hub is like new inside no cracking etc bike is very low mileage. The front brake shoes are being replaced as it is total crap performance with the old Japanese linings
