Baffle packing material

Post by Madbuffalo »

Where are you guys buying yours lately? Years ago I bought a pack of fiberglass packing sheets that did all silencers at least a couple times. I can't find it this time around. My Gt750 has Higgspeed expansion chambers, so changing out the packing material occasionally does turn down the volume nicely.
No really... it's supposed to smoke.

You could try going to an auto paint supply, and get fiberglass matting there.

Thanks markush, that's basically what I've been able to find as well; either loose packing material or pre-bagged for a larger off-road type silencer. I bought and cut one of those bags open and it was just filled with the same loose packing. Had I known the fiberglass blankets would be so hard to find I would have stocked up the last time I bought them.

Fiberglass for bodywork is creative. I might try that the next time around.
