Re: T575 Steam Triple
I'm guessing a lot of time, effort and patience went into welding that exhaust!

Re: T575 Steam Triple
and 5 years later..................
The Steam Triple's motor is almost complete. The starter motor has been replaced with a "wet belt" driven 150w alternator.
On the right side sits a self-generating HPI electronic ignition system. Handy for if the belt snaps
New outer covers are being milled to suit and will leave the motor 7.25" narrower than a standard Kettle engine.

Fuelling will be taken care of by 32mm OKO flat-slide carbs with cable chokes actuated by a standard Kettle J/K 1 -3 cable. The throttle and oil pump cable is also a standard Kettle J/K 1-4. The carbs are shown on the "mule" motor currently mounted in the frame for the dry-build.

Helluva project! Nice to see you're still progressing.
Think of how stupid the average person is, then realise that half of them are more stupid than that.

Thanks Alan.
It's still proving to be a very awkward build, but I am determined to finish it for next year!

Only 3 years?
That's a rush job.......
Waiting to see the silver frame parts - the Steam Triple's frame will be silver too.

Re: T575 Steam Triple
The replacement fuel tank arrived from France today. It has a slight scuff on the left front side but that will be repaired when it goes in for painting. It will be the same colour - Triumph Lucifer Orange - but minus the Triumph logos. The really good thing about this plastic tank is that there aren't any visible signs of the exterior paint bubbling due to fuel seepage, brought on by our good friend ethanol. It will go for lining before getting painted.

Re: T575 Steam Triple
The Triumph rear caliper is renowned for having underwhelming performance, so I have up-graded to a Brembo P2. Whilst I was at it, I re-located it to sit at the top of the disc, instead of underneath like the standard fitment.
