Thanks. I made a bracket to mount the Acewell from the stock gauge mounts on the upper triple (pic taken before I polished it):

Nice job on the mount. I used a similar setup, but used a thinner gauge aluminum (possibly a little too thin compared to yours...we'll see). How are you going to hook up the speedo sensor? Mine has a disk brake front, so i ended up using a magnetic bolt trigger on the disk and then made a stainless bracket bolted to the bottom of the fork where the stock front fender stay would be mounted. I epoxyed the sensor to the bracket.

My bracket is much stronger than it needs to be, but I had the stock on hand so I used it. I haven't decided how I'm mounting the speedo sensor. I' might run it to the swingarm and put the magnet bolt in the rear sprocket. I like this option because the wire will be less visible. I can also put the magnet in one of the holes in the front hub.
I had my stock headers ceramic coated. It's not an exact match for chrome, but I think it looks ok and shouldn't discolor after the bikes been run like chrome would. It was also much cheaper than either buying new headers or having the originals refurbished. Only the "U" bend coming out of the heads are coated, the chambers are polished stainless steel.
That machine just looks so fresh and simple and with beautiful proportions. I await with baited breath seeing it with its painted parts fitted. One of the nicest T500 specials I have seen.

I finished wiring up the lights. Now everything works but the horn and replacement for the dead stock part is on order. I decided to mount the rear indicators on the upper shock mounts. I hate having them at all, but at least they're fairly inconspicuous.
Tail light:
It finally stopped raining so I rolled her outside for a few pics. Still cloudy though, so the pics aren't the greatest:
The tail is sagging a bit in these pics because it's just tacked on with the rear two bolts. I ran into a clearance issue when I mounted the tail. Nothing major, I just need shorter front bolts and change the order that I assemble a few pieces in. These things are like 3d jigsaw puzzles sometimes.

have you thought about useing a hugger rear mud guard as it would keep alot of the road dirt from spoiling a supper clean cafe racer and would be quite neat and unobtrusive? .

I'm going to make a simple shield to close in the area behind the battery to keep fling from going forward into that area, but not an actual hugger per say. I've had huggers on three different bikes and never felt like they did all that much to keep the dirt down.

I'm a bit confused, I've never had header wrap on this bike (or any other).
BTW, for those who have been following this thread my T500 won Best Cafe Racer at this year's Rocker's Reunion vintage bike show here in Indianapolis.
