Gt500 top yoke

Hi to all....

We make full use of a local firm that offer a waterjet metal cutting service. In fact we use them for all our cutting requirements, as the finish is so perfect and precise. We have just had this top yoke made to suit the Gt500, and wondered what you guys think of it? We plan to drill 2 blind theaded holes on the underside, to mount the small individual dials that we like, but realise some owners may wish to retain the OEM dials.....it may involve designing a stainless bracket for the OEM clocks, as it would seem a shame to spoil the lines of the yoke by having 2 nuts on top of it. The other issue is mounting the bars....obviously this item suits my clip-ons, but I guess for those who favour clubmans, we have no choice but to drill holes in it !
Any ideas and suggestions gratefully received.....

Though the design is really nice and simple, I would personally prefer it to be way more rounded. The solid billet look is cool on new GP style bikes, but I think vintage customs calls for something else.
That being said; it does look the part. Make two versions. One for clip ons and one for club mans.

Couple of suggestions:

- Make a version to suit factory clocks with a neat stainless bracket
- Have an option to drill it for clubman bars
- Make a version to suit T500 rather than GT
- Send me one with my rearsets, ASAP.

HaHa...GM you funny man. All of those suggestions are on the agenda......though not so sure about the last one. LOL.

OK, maybe knock off the last one... I'm not sure I can face pulling the front end off now that the bike is so close to finished...

Seriously though - T500 would have to be a bigger market than GT500 (they're different yokes, right?), so that is a must.

Option to drill for clubmans is a no-brainer, basically just a matter of working out where the two holes go and it's easy done if someone wants it.

Re: factory clocks, well there's an extra hassle there, but old Suzuki twin clocks work so well on a cafe racer you'd be mad not to offer the option. Not experienced with aftermarket bike clocks, but surely once you've designed a bracket for factory ones, you could supply that undrilled for people to set up to suit whatever they've bought? Would that be correct?

To be honest, we went for the easier option making the ~Gt yoke first. The T yoke will be a different animal as the forks are different, and I think it will involve more machining. We'll definitely do one though....along with a stainless instrument bracket in polished 3mm or the like.
We like the little polished clocks, the 60mm ones look cafe racer to me, and I will be fitting them to my next build for sure.

I like what you did with the tree. I have to agree with rounding off the edges more to give it more of a cast look for the older bikes. The S is cool and makes it look custom one off. I'm getting ready to start another cafe project. This time it will be a '75 T500. I'm thinking about a set of your chambers. Planning any sales in the future
