Help starter gear

Post by andyp666 »

Ok I got the clutch off my gt550 and found the starter clutch and the outer part of the gear missing and the inner hub of the gear sheered off and is seized on the shaft....... happy days...
Has anyone got a GT550 starter gear going spare to sell????

The 380 is kickstart only.
You'd be better getting a complete later clutch, they come up on eblob regularly.
I have some clutch parts, but as I'm rebuilding 3 x 550s I expect I'll need plenty!
Post a pic of the exact bits you need - or the broken ones, and I'll see what can be done.

Isn't there a decent clutch on the spare engine you got?
Think of how stupid the average person is, then realise that half of them are more stupid than that.

And if you do buy one on eBay - make sure you get all the bits eh ? The new style is shown on the left - old style on the right. They don't mix and match. Also take a read through the Suzuki service bulletin GT-26 which can be found at this link. 8)
