I found another GT750 on craigslist, it runs, but needs a seat. Anyone have an extra?

I got a little time to work on my first GT750, but I need a couple carb parts. I notice all the rebuild kits have no o-rings. I only know of one in the carb, but it's missing in the kit, am I understanding this wrong?

I also drained the SRIS values, there wasn't much, just some 2 stroke oil.

 Hi yes, only one "o" ring per carb, but very important to replace them, also important to get them very clean internally, float levels set to the right height, & have the carbys balanced...makes a huge difference to how the bike performs on the road. I have seen a few kits that "have" the "o" rings...they can be bought from Suzuki individually if you get stuck ?

This might help you check out your crank seals.

I documented pretty much the entire build and there's a ton of pix on photobucket.

Thanks for the help guys.

I found the one O ring needed in the carbs for sale.

There is one part that can't find anywhere in the US. I found it in UK at this site: http://www.discountbikespares.co.uk/our ... GT750.html

I can't even find a part number for it. Any help would be great.

Cool, both my motorcycles have them, but one is looking fatigued, I figured if I could find it I would replace it.

I have a lathe, so if I had to I could try making one. I will email GTReiner and see if he has some for sale.

A few of us on here have done this fix and it seems to work well.

I had a some time to tinker today.

I'm cleaning out the oil lines and making sure the check valves don't leak. NO compressed air used. I ran alcohol through them and then oil. I hung them up for a drip test. It looks like one is still leaking, tomorrow I'm going to ultra sonic clean it while I'm in the shop, I'm curious if that will help clean them out.

The main question I have is: Does the line on the far left not have a check valve? The banjo looks different than the other lines and it doesn't hold the oil.

That's an excellent question. The answer is that the check valve for one line is an inline device. That appears to be because there is limited space for another check valve banjo in that location, so Suzuki found a new solution. Although that in line connector looks small, the ball and check spring are the same as the other banjo fittings.

I feared this was the answer, because that check valve is stuck open bad, I'm going to ultra sonic them for a while and see what happens.

Well, I ultra sonic cleaned them for a while, but not much improvement.

I ran alcohol through the lines, then put them back in the cleaner, ran alcohol again and then back in the cleaner.

The inline check valve is stuck open bad, some of the others leak, but the inline flows out.

I searched for replacement/repairs and didn't come up with much. Has anyone came up with a replacement for the check valves?

Good news, my dad and I got all the check valves working.

Also, with the help of some members here I should have all the parts to get these going. Aslsmm, gave me a working petcock and RING_DING is selling me a seat.

Here is the updated list I have made so far. The only problem is I can't get time to work on them.

1. Fix the wiring and coils
2. clean gas tank (done on one Motorcycle)
3. clean carbs and see if they need rebuilt. (Rebuilding one set, very close to finished)
4. change fluids, brake, oil, etc
5. check oil injection pump operation (Check valves working on one motorcycle for sure)
6. Drain the SRIS values (Done on one Motorcycle)
7. attempt to start.

DK, good list - looks like my list on the wreck of a GT550B I gave a home to last spring :-)

You'd be bored if you ran too fast through the list!

Good luck,
Mike
