Very nice, I love the finish that the walnut gives. I have just had some soda blasting done and while it cleans everything up, it doesn't get that nice satin finish that yours have.
just out of interest, what sort of cost for the 3 stage process like that?
Chris, thanks! John Gilchrist did the media blasting and said he liked using the soda to get rid of the oils and grime. The glass bead did a good job especially where the upper case still had some original paint and clear coat but the glass left a shiny finish. The walnut shell knocks the shine down and gives it that satin finish.
Regarding cost, a lot has to do with how clean it is when it shows up at Parts Blaster so John would need to quote each job separately. Im guessing that a good range would be between $100-150 but check with John and see what he says. Once he sees the cases, he can give an accurate estimate.
Wow, that seems pretty good, I just paid $300 for 2 complete T500 engines and 2 hubs to just be soda blasted so considering the finish you have ended up with I'd be pretty happy! Unfortunately mine are now in a crate heading home to Australia so I can't get John to do them for me. Are you going to clear coat these or put some Sharkhide on them?

It was recommended to me by the guys that did my soda blasting, I hadn't heard of it either. Looks the business though. http://www.sharkhide.com/mpinfo.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
