Re: I found a GT750 yesterday on Craigslist
I did, thanks - rescued the 550A from its 27year slumber, got it road legal, enjoyed a couple hundred miles on it, and sold it this week to clear workshop room for the keeper 550B project.
Long way to go on that one, on road next year I expect. Cheers, Mike

Re: I found a GT750 yesterday on Craigslist
So I have read in a couple places that the middle carb's main jet is 107.5 and the outside two are 110.
The kits I bought, came in a set of three, all contained 110.
My guess would be that I got the cheap kits and I should just put the original #105.7 main jet in the middle carb.
Is this correct?

You are right that kits are not so good. Rather than use old jets that may be worn or not perfect, I would buy three new genuine Mikuni jets. They are only a few dollars each on line

Re: I found a GT750 yesterday on Craigslist
very strange, and counter intuitive that the middle jet is smaller.
Kawi's would typically increase the size of the middle jet to keep from seizing.

Yeah .. we have talked about this topic several times here on the list and the ideas run around the split center exhaust pipes and its effect on the return wave back into the cylinder . Most run all the same jet size across when switching to chambers .lrutt wrote:very strange, and counter intuitive that the middle jet is smaller.

Re: I found a GT750 yesterday on Craigslist
I have started running the new harness, so far that hasn't went too bad. I'm trying to correct and figure out all the previous owners "fixes".
The biggest issue (for now) is my oil spider, the banjo without the check value broke when I tightened it down. I didn't put much pressure on it and it just cracked and fell apart.
Anyone have an extra oil spider? or Should I just try to replace the banjo?
Also, will any year fit my 1975?

Are the oil injector lines different for any models? or are the injector lines the same for all the years?

Re: I found a GT750 yesterday on Craigslist
Correct Dave (almost). There are 4 as far as I can tell, but differences are small.
72 are 310 series and have 3 plungers/pistons.
73 are also 310's ie cable operated and have 2 pistons.
74-5 are 312 and are rod operated
76-7 are also 312 series but have a different top cover and different matched rotor.
All are interchangeable but I'd avoid the 3 plunger which collapsed oil tanks sometimes.
72 and 73 used the same operating arm but different rotor.
73 and 74/5 used the same internals and body and just had a different operating arm to suit rod or cable.
74 and later all used the same body, pistons and operating arm but different top cover and rotor.

Re: I found a GT750 yesterday on Craigslist
Thanks, I drove myself nuts trying to see if all the years were compatible.
What about this?

The part in the middle, I found it for sale. Would it fit the current stock lines? The one banjo fitting that broke doesn't have the check valve, so if it fits the lines, it should work.

I bet you guys thought I was gone for good, I just ran out of time to work on this project.
Well, I got a new spider and one of the check values didn't work, so I used one of the check values off the old set. The wiring is pretty much done, but I am working on the ignition the previous owner cut off some wires.
