Thanks Gary,

Is that Hailwood's actual bike from his TT comeback ride?

And do you have any more/larger pics of that Trixalo/TrixKettle/hybrid? That is fascinating and has the usual right carb to frame clearance issue that the off center motor creates.

 Hi,the sticker on the fairing refers to the bike shop that the late Mike Hailwood had in partnership with Rod Gould located in Birmingham UK, Rod was 250cc World Champion on a Yamaha TD2 in 1970,also raced at the Isle of Man TT in the late 60's on Yamahas, 8) The bike could be the very one one that Mike won on..who knows,as there are so many Suzuki "Replicas" out there, same thing applies to Mike's Ducati TT bike ?
Cheers,
Roger

the Hailwood RG500 was the centre piece of a Hailwood exhibition and was loaned to the event by members of the Hailwood family but, as you well know, proving provenance of an old bike can be difficult, so I cannot confirm that it is the actual bike he raced at the TT.

Thanks. Of course that was before Rod Gould stole Mike's Honda and sold it. So true about proving provenance on old race bikes. How many genuine Bazza bikes are out there ? Probably a lot more than he rode. Some may have a motor or a frame or the forks and so on. I suspect that Hailwood's RG may be the real deal.

For some reason I thought you meant TRX the 850 twin, but that's a TDR 250 chassis. Nice conversion - crappy throttle cable connection to the carbs and a funky 3 into 1 but nice none the less.

I saw most of those bikes during the TT fortnight, and was lucky enough to have a good hour long chat with David Hailwood, when he stepped out of his seafront exhibition to admire my bike. I also spotted an immaculate GT500 in the pits and out on the road, being ridden by a member of the Bournemouth Kawasaki crew.

PS.....still not sure how come pictures are getting posted, and the best I can do is a URL ???????????????

HaHa....not at all. Sadly the 750 didn't get there due to last minute electrical issues that we had no time to sort out, but the 500 was there, and in constant use.....

Thanks for the photos.

Isn't the Isle of man something else, trip of a lifetime stuff!

Mike Hailwood's RG500 is normally on display in the Museum at Douglas along with Joey Dunlop's Honda and Frank Whiteways 1970 Production TT winning Suzuki T500!

Trip of a life time says it all Muzza....I guess you have been? judging by your knowledge of the contents of the Manx museum.
My 370 mile road trip, followed by 3.5 hours on the ferry, pales into insignificance compared to 12000 miles for you !
