Hi no idea,possible jumping in or out of gear as the dogs will have space to do this without the thrust washer to take the up the space/load

excessive movement of any kind can't be good

I should know where the shim goes in about 1 week as I have ordered both the shift drum thrust washer and the shim for the clutch. I am just hoping that only one of them will look like what I have and I am hoping it is for the clutch. //Pat

If it is the shift drum thrust washer, I wouldn't worry about too much. I think it's there to stop the drum from wearing into the case. As long as there's no shifting issues on the road, I don't think it'll be a problem for quite a few miles down the road! Or wait until you get the new washers, find out which one it is and IF it the shift drum washer, you decide if you want to split the cases again!

Well my Bike Bandit order came in today with the Shift drum thrust washer and clutch shim and my spare part does not match either one. I guess this will remain a mystery. //Pat

Is it the little shim thats next to the kick starter in this pic? Take into account this is the top of the case you are looking at.

Don't worry about that, i put some spray paint on it, put it on Ebay as 'refurbished'. Should be getting $200 in no time! Hoping the pic (sans mess) might help lead the OP.

Jamboree, did you have a hard time getting the cylinders off ? Judging by the crank, I would assume it would have been welded on ? Man, that's bad.

They are still on, never got them off. Never even got the pistons loose.

We still haven't answered what those "spare parts" are.

I know nothing about triples. But they look much like the same 2 thrust washers I asked about a few years back, found in my crankcase of my T500 after disassembly.

Turned out they were the thrust washers for the oil pump drive.

Hi jacking this thread .. but you might try some evapo rust https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSf1zJAdSRk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; poured down into the cylinders from that crank side to see if you can loosen up those pistons . The pistons still will not pull through the top case half so you would still have to get the cylinder off .
