Sorry I missed your Katana in Indy. I left mine home this year. We were there Friday and Saturday on the Circle. I rode my GT smoker and my boy rode the GS1000 sticker bike while my dad took his 77 BMW R60 and my buddy rode his VFR. The race was the best in years and bike night was heavy on HD this year for sure.
I'm pretty sure I saw you in or around the track Saturday on your bike, but it was just a quick drive by before I knew what was what.
After having my CBX apart for over 2 years now, I'm finally getting back to work on it. Soda blasted the head today, inside and out. And got the valves blasted clean again as well.... Just need to clean off the soda and lap the valves, put in the new seals, and put heads together. Then I will have no reason not to get bike finished... Maybe have it ready for next year...???
Nice ensemble of parts. Are you getting rid of the OE exhaust? If you are letting it go please keep me in mind. I have a near new V&H chrome header/pipe if you are in need of a performance exhaust.
I will definitely let you know if I will be changing it for a header. At this point I'm thinking, leave the engine as close to stock as possible, (and quiet).... As this will be my bike to putt around the backroads on, with my girlfriend. Seriously thinking of actually keeping the handle bars too.... every other bike I have has drag bars or clip ons. My GT750 has stock bars....and I hate to say it (getting older) but it's just so relaxing to ride around on. Kinda want to make this GS the same way........
Rebuilt my RGV fork tubes....new seals and bushings.
And finally got the bodywork that is special to the SP version.
It's done for now....fired up and smoking down the road once again.
That is definitely the first generation of watercooled 250's by Suzuki....
And in 1983 it was the first production motorcycle with an aluminum frame, the most advanced screamer in it's day.
Never sold here in the USA though.....
I just can't say no . That is what my head says to me all the time . It is a sickness . Watch out for the guys in white coats runnin around with butterfly nets, looking for you. I stick my head out the door ,look, then go out when the coast is clear.
Your collection is very very nice and your work is first class!
I drug another one home a week ago Sat. Have to finish the GT ,the XL and the CX before i start it, but getting anxious to pull things off and start cleaning and polishing and fixing!
