So I went to wash my air filter foams yesterday and they all but fell apart in my hands. A quick search of "air filter" on this forum lead me to the conclusion that my best bet seems to be get some foam sheets and make my own. A trip to a couple of local auto parts stores turned up nothing, so I'm going to have to get it on-line.
Unifilter seems to have a good selection at a reasonable price. Does anyone have experience with them? Comments / suggestions welcome.

Think of how stupid the average person is, then realise that half of them are more stupid than that.

Re: GT 550 air filter
A few years back,I stopped at local suzuki dealer to order a set of filters for my gt500. The owner ask why I dont use unifilter sheet and make them, and save a bunch of money. Been making my own since.

Re: GT 550 air filter
I made my own for my GT500 out of the Uni sheet. Glued the ends with a hot glue gun. Still going with the next owner as far as I know, must be five years now. I'm not sure what the 550 filter looks like but the only advice I'd give you if you decide to go this route is to make the mating surface cuts as precise as possible.

Re: GT 550 air filter
Have used the unfilter foam to make new filters for a number of bikes. Works well.
