This was a GT250. I welded the lugs on for the T250II exhaust. That was all that was needed. I took off all the late model body work and put on the early. Bolted right up.

very nice bike zook-e.
I have had a lot of the T250's etc, most of them already have the hi-pipe lugs.
I have a bare T20 frame here, it has the lugs too. I think you will find that Suzuki only removed them when the GT came along.

Thanks for clarifying that. I wonder if anyone (who knows how to post images) might have some good photos of a candy lavender T500R they could post? This would let me have a good look at what I should be aiming for - the purple on my bike is dark purple!
Thanks, Mike

ebay address for T500 parts

Post by Admin »

Can someone post the address for T500 parts on evilbay? I'm guessing there must be a specific site, rather than there being one enormous one for Suzukis??
Thanks

Just type in "Suzuki t500" on the home page. You will also want to search for "Suzuki t 500" , "Suzuki GT500", AND "Suzuki GT 500". That should just about cover it.

Thanks, the bike belongs to Keith Sutton, I made it for him. Also my TC305 of course has the lugs and my T350 and T250 frames do as well. Yes you are correct that the GTs dropped the lugs.

Mike,

Head over to Muzza's resource page:

http://www.ozebook.com/compendium/t500index.htm

And make sure you have some time to kill as there's a LOT of info there including at least one color picture of your bike....

Stinger II pipes

Post by Admin »

Whos ever seen a T125 II Stinger with down pipes. These were very rare pipes and did exist, the old parts manuals that Suzuki used back then show the option listed for countries Singapore and Barbados, but were there other markets involved???.
I also know these pipes to exist first hand because the model Stingers we imported came with both versions.
I dumped a whole bunch of very old suzuki bikes about 10 years ago to clear out for extra space, and in there i remember clearly was a pop green Stinger with down pipes.
All it needed mechanically if i remember was the two carbs and it would have run, oh well if id only known to keep it then as i still have some parts left for those models.
I'm sorry i have no actual pics of the down piped Stingers to show, only a parts book illustration, so does anyone here have a photo of an actual bike with the down pipes on it that i can add to my photo collection.

NOS parts

Post by Admin »

Is there anyone here restoring any Suzuki bikes of under 250cc from the early 60s to late 70s, if so i might have some of what you need in NOS parts.
Please dont ask for indicators or mirrors, those items went a long time ago.

Allan,

I've got a couple of T125 Stingers - both in need of restoration. What do you have in terms of NOS parts?

Thanks,

Jim send me a list of what you need and i'll compare it against the Stinger items i have. These parts were all cleared out of the allocated area and cleaned, rebagged if necessary and placed into crates for safe storage.
A lot of the bigger items (seats tanks etc) went to the Uk, mostly to Crooks Suzuki, but i do still have a fair bit left.

Sorry guys a quick update here on the items, my brother who was mainly looking after the prepping and sale of the items, mostly for postage to the Uk, informed me this morning that the major parts are now gone, well at least those for the larger bikes anyway.
DiamondJ i asked him on the Stinger parts remaining and hes told me hes got a top and bottom triple tree and the CCI oil lines, that is all for that model unfortunately.
However he said theres a fair bit of A100 parts and some U50/U70 items there still, for anyone interested.
I honestly only remembered this recently thats why i posted it here, and had i found this site about a year and a half ago, there would have been a lot of parts to choose from.
