That's the plan. I drained the old gas, adjusted a carb float, installed a new petcock, battery, and two sets of points in the last couple days. And finally it started.
At least on two cylinders.

After sleeping on it overnight, this evening I pulled the center plug, hooked it back up the plug to wire, and turned the engine over. Not a points issue, got a decent spark. Appears that almost two years of sitting has caused a problem with gas getting through the middle carb and into the that cylinder.
Looks like I will be pulling the carbs this weekend, and tearing into the middle one..

Sounds like a blocked pilot jet is possible on that centre carb, so its worth checking it first to see if its clear.
Nows a good time to check them all and clean them up on the overhaul as well.
Soooo, I could not wait till the weekend to tackle this problem.
Allen wins the Prize!! Now I just gotta figure out what it is.
Main jet on the middle carb wasn't just plugged solid. It was buried in the crud in the bottom of the carb bowl. What was amazing was the left one was partially plugged but not much crud in the bowl. The right was clean as a whistle.
Now next step is to clean the tank good. I know where the crud had to have come from.
By the way, running on all three cylinders now.

Tank cleaning can be done with Evaporust which should get it back to some decent interior finish. Oh and thanks for the prize, so what did i win, when you can get around to it,,LOL
