Original owner listed it on Craigslist. I was one of 136 emails he got and somehow I walked away with it.......................................
He pulled the factory pipes and put Denco chambers,48 tooth sprocket, air cleaners and upped the mains for the better breathing. He said he scared himself too many times on it and just pulled it into the garage in 1978 and forgot about it. The factory pipes are beautiful and he saved the aircleaner and centerstand. Feel like I pulled it out of a time warp. Think I'll be gettin her running next week.

He had it listed on Craigslist for $500 Lane. I sent him an email telling him the bike was worth more than that and that I'd like to come out and make him an offer. I did and we hit it off pretty well. He gave the first guy dibs on it, then that fella sorta put the high pressure on and the owner just decided he didn't like him, he didn't want to sort through the 130 or so other emails so he called me and said the bike was mine. I paid more than $500 but it was still a hell of a deal.

New plugs, drained and refilled with GN2 2 stroke, cleaned the carbs and installed a new battery. Sputtered 2nd kick, started, idled and ran up and down the street on the 5th kick. Love the Denco chamber sound.

Well, first CONGRATULATIONS for hitting the rice burner lottery of a lifetime. But after reading your story it seems there was a bit more than luck of the draw involved. So, it reminds me of this quotation from General George S. Patton: “A good solution applied with vigor now is better than a perfect solution applied ten minutes later.” In one swoop you snagged a keeper, and the Denco gear is icing in the cake! And speaking of the Brit that wanted the bike, this is what many mere mortals have to go through to get just one nice motorcycle...
